This slide set accompanied a webinar that presents a landscape analysis of specialized residential placements for child trafficking victims across the United States. This project was a collaboration of Northeastern University, Children's Advocacy Center of Suffolk County, and National Center for Youth Law. The presentation emphasizes state responses to child trafficking and the current lack of data on the types of models or strengths and challenges of different models. To begin building a picture of specialized programs for child victims of trafficking, 130 programs were identified and invited to complete a survey; 67 programs that fit study criteria were included and 23 participated in an in-depth survey. Specialized programs shared some components: comprehensive child trafficking and trauma-informed training, multidisciplinary team (MDT) response, mostly small physical space, individually tailored services and empowerment, and protocols related to safety. The presenters emphasize that this survey only captures existing services and does not summarize "best practices," as there is not yet enough research to know which practices are "best."
