The purpose of this thesis was to write a grant for Paramount Unified School District in California to implement a curriculum on child abuse prevention for students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade (K-5) based upon the evidence-based HealthSmart curriculum. This educational initiative will focus on child sexual abuse prevention and will be taught by school social workers and counselors. The program will include an in-service training for school personnel and a workshop for parents. This curriculum will educate children grades K-5 on risk factors and safety to raise their awareness about child sexual abuse, healthy boundaries and appropriate caretaker roles. A funder has been selected for the purposes of this grant but submission was not a requirement for this thesis grant proposal.en_US
