The use of human figure drawings in forensic interviewing remains a controversial topic. The NCAC recently issued a position paper which concluded that, based on current research, human figure drawings should not be used as a matter of standard practice. At the same time, many interviewers consider them helpful and they remain a central element of some interviewing protocols and trainings. This webinar will discuss the pros and cons of human figure drawings and will review the latest research that has lead researchers to conclude that their use to elicit initial disclosures of abuse is not an evidence based practice.en_US
