dc.descriptionAlthough not generally thought of as public health related functions, investigative and intervention responses to child maltreatment clearly are public health matters, even if government social services or law enforcement agencies play the lead roles. Thus, disclosures of health information to multidisciplinary teams, children s advocacy centers, and child fatality review groups − about relevant children and adults − could fall within this exception to HIPAA privacy requirements.
