Evidence supporting intimate partner violence (IPV) assessments in the pediatric setting is scarce. Should pediatricians care, and why is this question so difficult to answer? This workshop will explore the co-occurrence of IPV and child maltreatment; explain the profound effects of IPV on a child’s medical and emotional health; and predict and overcome the barriers in IPV assessment for both the provider and patient.en_US
