Among these services is the foundational forensic interview of children at the center of allegations of child abuse. Experts suggest that tele-forensic interviewing (tele-FI) is an effective and legally defensible alternative to face-to-face interviewing when appropriate guidelines are followed and external factors that could impact the reliability of the children's testimony are effectively addressed. Evidence for tele-FI for children include a review of existing research, plus preliminary results from a large in-progress study funded by the National Science FoundationItem Healing, Justice, & Trust -A National Report on Outcomes for Children’s Advocacy Centers 2018. In addition to serving as the set of standards by which Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) may be accredited as capable of providing consistent and evidence-based healing interventions, the Standards for Accredited Members also perform several secondary functions. The Standards 1) act as a compass for CACs during leadership transition so that Multidisciplinary Teams (MDTs), Boards, and other stakeholders know how to maintain the course; 2) to serve as a valuable roadmap for new CACs as they develop; and 3) to demonstrate the high-quality work of Accredited CACs to policymakers, funders, and supporters.Item STATUS OF CAC-MILITARY PARTNERSHIP-2019(National Children's Alliance, 2019) National Children's AllianceNCA conducted a needs assessment by combining the results of a mandatory 2018 census that included questions related to military partnerships to all its member CACs with the results of a data call to FAP offices. Additionally, grant reports from CAC-military partnership pilot projects provided additional resolution around the process of developing a relationship between a CAC and a local FAP office.
