It has been used by law enforcement and civil society organizations in Central America to develop and strengthen mechanisms related to missing children. As a result of that report, three countries invited ICMEC to train first responders on issues related to missing children, and one country created a unit within its police force specifically focused on missing and abducted children. This report, focused on Southeast Asia, is similar in scope and purpose and aims to inspire the same interest in missing children’s issues throughout the region. We have a global duty of care to help find any child who has gone missing for any reason and ensure that all children experience a safer childhood.enArticle
