dc.description Stop It Now! affiliates used public opinion surveys for program planning and as an evaluation measure. Understanding the attitudes of target audiences allowed programs to craft messages that have the highest likelihood of being effective. In addition, surveys were used to establish a baseline for tracking attitude and knowledge over time and to determine effectiveness and implications for improvement of programming.
