Abstract

Offers child-serving providers information about child neglect and trauma. This fact sheet describes what child neglect is, if it is a traumatic experience, how neglect impacts children, factors that might be related to trauma, and how providers can identify children who may be experiencing neglect. It also discusses how child welfare defines and responds to neglect, how providers can support families who have experienced neglect, as well as the impact of child neglect on providers.
