dc.description Child-maltreatment prevention has become more robust in North Carolina since the North Carolina Institute of Medicine Task Force convened in 2005. The commitment by state governmental and nongovernmental leadership and funding agencies has been instrumental to this achievement. This commentary highlights several successful approaches used to prevent child maltreatment in the state, although there is much work to be done.
