Abstract
A key aim of the Centre of expertise on child sexual abuse is to increase understanding
and awareness of the scale and nature of child sexual abuse (CSA). This paper forms the
background to reaching current best estimates for both CSA and child sexual exploitation
(CSE), as part of a strand of work which seeks to improve measurement and identify gaps
in knowledge.
