Abstract
As this report highlights, it is urgent to end
the conspiracy of silence and strong sense of
impunity surrounding incidents of violence
against children who lack parental care. Violence
against Children and Care in Africa provides clear
recommendations of how progress can be made
in ensuring the comprehensive and effective
implementation of the UN Guidelines in Africa.
These recommendations are indispensable to
secure the protection of children’s rights and
must be acted upon immediately.
