Abstract
The aim of the article is to analyze subject literature devoted to pedophilia and the forms of support offered
to its victims in Poland. The article begins with the definitions of the terms: pedophilia, a pedophile and a
sexually abused child. Next etiopathogenesis of pedophilia and the consequences of sexual abuse are discussed.
The article ends with the presentation of three Polish institutions, whose activities aim at preventing pedophilia
and supporting its victims.
