Abstract

Description

Considerable efforts have been made during the last generation to encourĀ age children and their families to report victimization to authorities. Nonetheless, concern persists that most childhood victimization remains hidden. The 2008 inventory of childhood victimization the National Study of Children s Exposure to Violence (NatSCEV) (see History of the National Survey of Children s Exposure to Violence, p. 4) allowed an assessĀ ment of whether authorities, including police, school, and medical authorities, are identifying victimizations.
