Institutional responses to child sexual abuse: The constitutionality of a royal commission
Abstract
Late in 2012, the then Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, announced a national Royal Commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse. This article sets out the background to the Royal Commission and examines whether the Australian Constitution permits such an inquiry to be held.
