Child maltreatment, which comprises both child abuse and child neglect, is a principal social quagmire. But why is there a huge focus on the criminal aspect of this social malady? It is mainly due to the reasons that crime and its consequences are the most socially expensive potential outcomes of maltreatment, and because the proposed systems linking maltreatment and crime are by comparison well expounded in the literature. It is also found that the maltreatment approximately doubles the prospect of participating in many types of crime. A few social problems have the wide-ranging impact on crime, the economy, and the health and welfare of communities that child abuse does. Consider the fact that there are ten billion children in India, and that over seven million of these children must be removed from their homes annually, due to substantiated allegations of sexual abuse. The present executive should consider their position of a responsible government as a social pioneer for the transformation of the nation for a better future. Its passage of a bill that offers equal protection for all of its children will stand as a challenge of implementation to the twenty eight states where the social evils exist which persist in treating children as property. Until these laws are abolished across the nation, not only will there be adults who abuse their children using a justification of ownership and control, but places in which such perpetrators can remain confident that they will be abetted by the laws of the state.
